A 19-year-old Pierre Part resident, Justin Paul Gaspard, was arrested by the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on felony charges related to a second degree battery incident. The arrest follows an altercation that took place in Paincourtville on February 22, 2026.

According to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call regarding a disturbance at a Paincourtville residence. Upon arrival, they spoke with the victim who reported that after returning from a local establishment with Gaspard, an argument ensued and escalated. The victim stated that Gaspard began striking him with closed fists.

Deputies observed that the victim had sustained a facial laceration requiring medical attention. Following their investigation, authorities obtained an arrest warrant for Gaspard.

On Saturday, deputies located and arrested Justin Paul Gaspard at his home on Coon Road in Pierre Part. He was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of second degree battery. His bond has been set at $25,000.
