The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office announced on Apr. 14 that registration is open for its Summer Basketball and Volleyball Leagues, which will take place in the summer of 2026 at Napoleonville Middle School Gym in Napoleonville, Louisiana.

The programs are part of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Recreation Program and aim to provide parish-wide recreational opportunities for children during the summer months. The leagues are free of charge and available to boys and girls from across the parish.

Sheriff Leland J. Falcon said, “Sheriff Leland J. Falcon welcomes BACK the children of the parish to register for the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Recreation Program Summer Volleyball League.” Registration for both leagues can be completed by picking up forms at any parish school or sheriff’s office location, with multiple registration dates set throughout April at Napoleonville Middle School.

The Summer Basketball League is open to children ages 6-15, with events scheduled from June 1 through June 18, including shoot-arounds and draft days. The Summer Volleyball League is available to those aged 6-14, running from July 7 through July 23 with practices divided by age group. All activities will be held at Napoleonville Middle School Gym.

Transportation will not be provided for either league. Organizers are seeking volunteers to serve as coaches and scorekeepers. For questions about either program, residents can contact Lt. Byron Parker or Felicia Moore using information provided by the sheriff’s office.

Registration forms may be picked up or dropped off at every school in the parish as well as all three Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office substations.
