The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office announced on April 27 the arrest of Daniel Joseph Pourciau, age 39, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on a warrant for failing to appear in court regarding felony drug charges.
The case concerns Pourciau’s previous arrest in Assumption Parish. He was ordered to attend a court hearing scheduled for January 12 but did not appear as required. As a result, a warrant was issued for his arrest on January 15.
According to the statement from Sheriff Leland Falcon, “Daniel J. Pourciau was arrested by Baton Rouge City Police on April 24,2026. Daniel J. Pourciau was released to the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on April 24,2026.” The sheriff’s office confirmed that Pourciau was then booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
Pourciau faces charges related to possession of methamphetamine and heroin following his failure to attend the mandated court date in January. He remains incarcerated while awaiting a bond hearing.
