Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon announced on Apr. 28 the arrest of Jamiah Deron Harris, age 34, on felony charges related to a reported burglary near Labadieville.
The case involves allegations that Harris entered the home of a former domestic acquaintance without permission and took items while she was away. The incident prompted uniformed patrol deputies to respond to a residence off Louisiana Highway 308 after receiving the complaint.
Deputies located Harris at a residence on Violet Street in Labadieville and took him into custody following their investigation. He was subsequently booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges including unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and two detainers from the Louisiana Department of Corrections, Probation – Parole Division.
Harris remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing for the unauthorized entry charge. According to authorities, he has been ordered held without bond on the two probation and parole detainers associated with docket numbers ASM DK# 21-113 and TER DK# 835856.
