Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon announced on Mar. 9 the arrest of Tronea Rochelle Jones, 33, following a traffic stop in Pierre Part. The arrest was made after a patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and stopped the car.

The case is significant as it involved the apprehension of an individual wanted on a felony fugitive warrant, highlighting ongoing law enforcement efforts to address outstanding warrants and public safety concerns.

According to the sheriff’s office, the deputy identified Jones during an officer/violator interview and conducted a warrants check. It was determined that Jones was wanted by the Franklin Louisiana Police Department for aggravated battery. Jones was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges related to the fugitive warrant from Franklin Police Department.

After being processed at the detention center, Jones was released and directed to report to the Franklin Police Department for further proceedings.
