Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon announced on Apr. 22 the arrest of Kasey A. Carter, age 37, following a traffic stop and foot pursuit near Plattenville.
The incident began when a uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and conducted a stop. According to the sheriff’s office, an individual wearing a facemask fled from the vehicle on foot. The deputy pursued and subdued the suspect, who was later identified as Carter.
Authorities determined that Carter was wanted by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office on multiple fugitive charges. He was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
Carter faces charges including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated obstruction of a highway, aggravated criminal damage to property, aggravated flight from an officer (all out of Ascension Parish), as well as resisting an officer in Assumption Parish.
