Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon announced on April 30 the arrests of three individuals following a disturbance near Napoleonville. The incident resulted in multiple felony and misdemeanor charges for Jeremy Brown, Samyah Syanne Butler, and Kizzy Marie Martin.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a reported disturbance involving two people. The situation was described as an ongoing issue that had begun the previous day. Deputies attempted to calm those involved, but Samyah Syanne Butler became uncooperative and resisted arrest before being taken into custody.
Jeremy Brown reportedly entered the scene as the investigation moved onto school property. Authorities said Brown became unruly and refused orders to leave. As deputies attempted to arrest both Brown and a juvenile amid increasing concerns for public safety, both tried to flee. A deputy caught up with Brown, who then physically confronted law enforcement before being arrested.
A third individual, Kizzy Marie Martin, was arrested after instructing a juvenile involved in the incident to flee from deputies.
Jeremy Brown faces charges including terrorizing, resisting an officer by force or violence, disturbing the peace, entering or remaining after being forbidden, violation of controlled dangerous substance laws (including possession of marijuana), and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. He remains incarcerated with bond set at $500,000.
Samyah Syanne Butler was charged with contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, disturbing the peace, entering or remaining after being forbidden, and resisting an officer. Her bond is set at $5,000.
Kizzy Marie Martin faces charges of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles and interfering with a law enforcement investigation; she has been released on bond.
