Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon announced on Apr. 27 the arrest of Sharrie M. Williams, age 36, in connection with a disturbance at a residence on Lillian Street in Plattenville.
Authorities said deputies responded to a complaint Friday evening and spoke with the complainant, who stated that Williams had arrived at the residence and caused a disturbance. Deputies made contact with Williams, who they said was uncooperative during their investigation.
According to the sheriff’s office, when deputies attempted to arrest Williams, she resisted violently. “Deputies attempted to arrest Williams at which time she resisted those efforts in a violent manner,” Falcon said.
Williams was taken into custody and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of disturbing the peace by intoxication, resisting an officer, and two counts of resisting an officer by force or violence. The sheriff’s office reported that her bond has been set at $35,000 and she remains incarcerated.
