The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office announced on May 1 the arrest of Quintero Jupiter, age 40, from Thibodaux, Louisiana, on several felony charges related to a traffic incident in Labadieville. Sheriff Leland Falcon said the arrest took place Friday morning after a narcotics agent observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and attempted to stop it.

According to the statement, the driver continued driving and was seen throwing an item over the Labadieville bridge into Bayou Lafourche. Authorities later stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Quintero Jupiter.

Agents recovered a quantity of MDMA (Ecstasy) from Bayou Lafourche shortly after the stop. Jupiter was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on multiple charges including possession with intent to distribute MDMA (Ecstasy), obstruction of justice, flight from an officer, driving on roadway laned for traffic, and detainer for probation and parole.
