Deputy Gail Richard retired from the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on April 15 after more than 19 years of service, according to an announcement by Sheriff Leland Falcon.

Richard has served at the Pierre Part Substation for nearly two decades, overseeing its daily operations and contributing to various aspects of the office. Her responsibilities included acting as training coordinator for Louisiana P.O.S.T. Certification requirements and managing media releases for the public information office.

Sheriff Falcon said, “For the past 19.5 years, Deputy Richard has maintained the Pierre Part Substation with dedication and professionalism. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the substation, Gail has been the training coordinator managing the Louisiana P.O.S.T. Certification training requirements for the Sheriff’s Office and processed media releases for the public information office. I want to express my sincere appreciation to Deputy Richard for her many years of service.”

The Sheriff’s Office presented Richard with a plaque commemorating her career on Tuesday as she concluded her last day on duty.
