The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will begin resurfacing work on LA 398 from LA 1 in Labadieville to the intersection with LA 662 starting at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 19, according to an announcement made on April 15.

The project is expected to impact traffic as only one lane will remain open during construction. This may cause delays for drivers traveling through the area.

DOTD said that the resurfacing work will be conducted around the clock until it is completed. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through this section of roadway and should expect delays due to the single-lane closure.

“We ask everyone to exercise patience and utilize safety measures while trafficking through construction zones,” DOTD said in its statement.

For more information about this project, residents can contact Sheriff Leland Falcon or Public Information Officer Lonny Cavalier at (985) 498-9353 or (985) 369-2912.
