Lafourche Parish Sheriff announces May Rape Aggression Defense course in Thibodaux

Sheriff Craig Webre announced on April 28 that the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office will host a Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) course from May 12 to May 14 at the Law Enforcement Complex located at 1300 Lynn Street in Thibodaux.

The course is designed to teach self-defense techniques specifically for women. It will run over three days, with each session beginning at 6 p.m. and ending around 9:30 p.m. Participants are required to attend all three sessions. Certified R.A.D. instructors from the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office will lead the instruction.

According to the announcement, there is a $10 fee for materials, which is non-refundable. The class size is limited and advance registration is necessary. Those interested can register and pay online at www.LPSO.net/classes, with a registration deadline set for May 8 at 11 a.m.
