Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced on May 1 that two people were arrested after narcotics agents found drugs and firearms at a residence in Cut Off. The individuals, Shelly Adams, 44, and Aaron Brown, 41, both of Cut Off, were taken into custody following the execution of a search warrant.
Authorities had been investigating Adams for her alleged involvement with the use and sale of illegal narcotics. During this investigation, agents obtained an arrest warrant for Adams on charges related to the distribution of methamphetamine as well as a search warrant for her home located on West 103rd Street.
On April 30, investigators carried out the search at Adams’ residence. According to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office statement, they recovered methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and two firearms during their operation. Two juveniles present in the home at that time were released into family care.
Adams and Brown were booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex on several charges including possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both also face one count each of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in the presence of drugs, and possession of drugs in the presence of a juvenile. A third person at the scene—Diego Adams, age 19—was issued a criminal summons for possession of drug paraphernalia.
The bail amount was set at $118,000 for Brown and $138,000 for Adams; Adams is also being held for Louisiana Probation and Parole authorities. Citizens are encouraged to report any drug-related or suspicious activity directly to Lieutenant Adam Dufrene or anonymously through Bayou Region Crime Stoppers.
