Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre asked for the public’s help on May 1 in connection with an ongoing investigation into a shooting incident that occurred in Raceland. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded at around 8 p.m. on April 25 to a report of a shooting near Brocato Lane, where one person was injured.

The case remains unsolved and no arrests have been made so far. Authorities are seeking any information that could assist detectives as they continue their efforts to identify those responsible.

Sheriff Webre said, “Detectives are asking for the public’s help to solve this crime. Anyone with any information on any of this incident can submit a tip anonymously to Bayou Region Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-743-7433, online at CrimeStoppersBR.org, or via the Bayou Tips app on mobile devices.” He also noted that tips submitted through Crime Stoppers could result in a cash reward if they lead to an arrest: “Tips submitted through Crime Stoppers could lead to a reward of up to $1,000.00 in cash if the information leads to an arrest.”

The sheriff’s office continues its investigation and encourages community members who may have seen or heard anything related to the incident to come forward.
