There were 1,205 Black students enrolled in Assumption Parish School District schools in the 2021-22 school year, 5.3% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Data showed that Assumption Parish School District welcomed 3,019 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 39.9% of the student body to be the second most represented ethnicity in the district.

Assumption Parish School District roughly covers schools within Assumption Parish and has a main office in Napoleonville.

Among the 10 schools in Assumption Parish School District, Assumption High School recorded the highest enrollment of Black students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 368 students.

The majority of Louisiana students were identified as white and Black, representing 48% and 37% of the state student body respectively during the 2021–22 academic year. Hispanic students made up 8.6% of the student body, and other ethnic minorities made up 5.6%.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
