There were 949 ninth grade students enrolled in Lafourche Parish schools in the 2021-22 school year, 4.8% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Thibodaux High School welcomed the most ninth grade students in the parish.

Within Lafourche Parish schools, the most students were found in eighth grade classes, while 12th grade classes were the smallest.

Statewide, Lafourche Parish ranked 15th highest in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 16th highest the year before.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
