Census Bureau: 78.2% of people in Assumption Parish were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 21,366 citizens living in Assumption Parish in 2021, 78.2% were old enough to vote, equating to 16,697 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 7,957 were male, constituting 47.7%, and 8,740 were female, making up 52.3%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Assumption Parish during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 76.4%.
