Coastal Zone Management opens public comment on new permit applications

The Coastal Zone Management office has announced that it has received applications for a Coastal Use Permit and/or a Coastal Impact Certificate. These applications are currently under review, with a public comment period open until September 9, 2024. Following this period, a determination will be issued.

The first application comes from Ross J. Ross R&M Residential Rentals LLC. The proposal involves reclaiming ten feet of eroded land from Bayouside by excavating soil from the adjacent Bourg Canal. The project is located at 229 Texas Gulf Road, Bourg, LA 70343 in Terrebonne Parish and is identified as P20240625.

The second application is submitted by Phillip Fanguy for a proposed borrow pit at 4390 & 4394 Highway 56, Houma, LA 70363. This site is situated in Section 43, T18S-R18E of Terrebonne Parish and carries the identification P20240629.
