Donors Kenneth “Jerry” and Dianne Myers created the Myers Family Endowed Scholarship to benefit students at Nicholls State University. The scholarship will be awarded to graduates of E.D. White Catholic High School.
Nicholls recently received $50,000 from Chevron to develop the Bayou Region Incubator and the Student Entrepreneur and Innovation Center, which will provide business incubation and co-working space for entrepreneurs striving to develop a business venture.
Nicholls Athletics Seafood Extravaganza is set to take place on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. in the Nicholls Cotillion Ballroom. All proceeds benefit Nicholls student-athlete scholarships.
Graduate students in Nicholls’ Environmental Law and Policy course traveled to Grand Isle, Port Fourchon, Golden Meadow and Lockport as part of a Biology workshop concentrating on life and law on the Louisiana coast.
Dr. Ashley Busby, assistant professor of Art at Nicholls, published an article titled “Going Her Own Way” on the art of Dorothy Fratt in the December/January 2022-23 issue of Art and Antiques magazine.
Dr. Marilyn Macik-Frey, dean of the College of Business Administration and professor of management, was elected president of the Southern Business Administration Association in January 2023. Dr. Frey has over 28 years of experience in directing, leading, managing and teaching, making her an exceptional candidate to serve the SBAA 2023 Board and Officers as President.
Alcee Fortier Professor and Nicholls Dean of Sciences and Technology Dr. John Doucet has been named to the Board of Directors of the Environment and Health Council of Louisiana.
