76.7% of Lafourche Parish residents old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 97,677 citizens living in Lafourche Parish in 2021, 76.7% were old enough to vote, equating to 74,882 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 36,569 were male, constituting 48.8%, and 38,313 were female, making up 51.2%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Lafourche Parish during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 76.4%.
