The Terrebonne Parish Library System is set to host the 20th Annual Jambalaya Writers’ Conference on April 5, 2025, at the Main Library in Houma, Louisiana. This event marks two decades of fostering literary talent and connecting writers with readers.
Over the years, the conference has become a significant gathering for writers, book enthusiasts, and publishing professionals. The upcoming event will feature well-known authors, workshops, and opportunities for networking within the literary community.
Tom Piazza will deliver the keynote address. Attendees can participate in workshops on various topics including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and publishing. Edit and pitch sessions will allow participants to meet editors and publishers for personalized feedback. Book signings will also be available.
A unique session called "Blind Auditions" offers anonymous submissions for live critique by a panel of authors and editors. Another special session funded by the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities is "Lunch & Listen," where local poets will share their work.
The evening concludes with "The Sunset Social," sponsored by Scrivener (Literature and Latte), providing an informal setting to connect with fellow writers.
Mary Cosper-LeBoeuf, Director of the Terrebonne Parish Library System stated: "We are incredibly proud to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Jambalaya Writers’ Conference. This event has grown into an essential part of our literary community."
