The Terrebonne Parish Library System, in collaboration with Synergy Bank, has announced the return of the Battle of the Books competition. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10 AM, to be held at the Houma Municipal Auditorium.

The Battle of the Books is a tournament-style contest where student teams display their knowledge of selected books. Participants answer trivia questions in a manner similar to game shows like College Bowl and Family Feud. Students from participating schools are grouped into teams that first compete against each other before the top two from each school advance to the area-wide championship.

Mary Cosper-Leboeuf, the Director of the Terrebonne Parish Library System, emphasized the broader aims of the event by stating: "Battle of the Books is more than just a trivia contest—it encourages a love for reading, promotes teamwork, and lets students showcase their creativity and school pride."

The community is welcomed to attend and support the participants. Admission to the event is free. Additional details can be obtained by contacting Megan Hutchinson, Youth Services Supervisor, at 985-876-5861.

The stage is set for this literary competition to unfold.
