Coastal zone management permit applications open for public comment until June 15

The Coastal Zone Management Office has announced that it is currently reviewing applications for a Coastal Use Permit and/or a Coastal Impact Certificate. The office is inviting the public to submit their comments on these applications until June 15, 2024.

Among the applications under review are two from Low Land Construction Co., Inc. and David Vice. The former is proposing to excavate materials needed for levee construction in Section 4, T18S-R18E of Terrebonne Parish (P20240348). The public comment period for this application ends on June 14, 2024.

On the other hand, David Vice's proposal involves the creation of a recreational pond in Section 18, T18S-R17E of Terrebonne Parish (P20240378). The public has until June 15, 2024, to provide their feedback on this application.

The notification was posted by the Coastal Restoration and Preservation agency on May 20, 2024. Mart Black, Director of the Coastal Zone Management Office, encourages anyone with questions or comments to contact him at 985-873-6889.
