Renters and homeowners in several parishes affected by Hurricane Francine have a final opportunity to apply for federal disaster assistance. The deadline to submit applications is November 16.

The parishes eligible for assistance include Ascension, Assumption, Lafourche, Jefferson, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Mary, and Terrebonne. Those impacted are encouraged to apply even if they have not yet received repair estimates or insurance settlements.

FEMA advises that registering is the first step in the process of determining eligibility for aid. The agency will assist survivors in identifying necessary information to complete their applications.
