Health fair offers free screenings in Houma on February 18

A health and wellness fair is scheduled to take place on February 18 at the Terrebonne Parish Health Unit, located at 600 Polk Street in Houma. The event will run from 9 AM to 2 PM and is open to the public without charge.

The Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, in collaboration with the Baton Rouge Woman's Hospital, will provide breast cancer and colorectal screenings. Women over the age of 40 can also receive mammograms. Appointments are advised for these services, which can be arranged by calling (985) 239-5739.

Additionally, Tandem Clinical Research will offer screenings for fatty liver and memory issues. Participants who undergo either screening will receive a $30 gift card.
