The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) is considering requesting federal assistance from the Small Business Administration (SBA) following the historic cold weather that began impacting the state on January 20, 2025. This potential request aims to secure disaster loans for businesses affected by the weather conditions.

GOHSEP is reaching out to the private sector to collect data on the economic impact through a survey. Businesses are encouraged to complete and return this survey by January 24, 2025. The survey can be sent to either Allison Hadley, GOHSEP Director of Recovery, at Allison.Saari@la.gov or Jacqueline (Jackie) Gazzea, GOHSEP IA Branch Manager, at Jaqueline.Gazzea@la.gov.

Completing the survey does not ensure eligibility for a disaster loan but is necessary for consideration. For further inquiries, businesses can contact either of the aforementioned officials or email info@labeoc.org.
